Northstowe Hero Terms and Conditions
1. The competition
1.1 The title of the competition is Northstowe Community Hero Competition.
1.2 This competition is being run by Unsworth Sugden Advertising Limited (“Unsworth Sugden”) on our behalf.
1.3 “We” “us” and “our” refers to the Northstowe Phase 1 Housing Developers (Bovis Homes, David Wilson Homes, Domovo Homes, Linden Homes, Taylor Wimpey).
2. How to enter
2.1 This is a month-long competition that will begin on 1st June 2021 and end on the 30th June 2021.
2.2 To enter the competition send your nomination to the following email address NorthstoweHero@unsworthsugden.co.uk including the name of the person you wish to nominate and the reasons for why you wish to nominate them to win.
2.3 The competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
2.4 In entering this competition, you acknowledge that you are nominating someone (other than yourself) who you believe should win this competition for the reasons set out in your entry.
2.5 We will not accept responsibility for nominations not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
2.6 By submitting a competition entry, you and the person you are nominating are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2.7 We will choose one winner from the competition entries (“Nominated Winner”). The decision will be made by our marketing/sales team and will be based on merit. Our decision (acting reasonably) will be final.
3. Eligibility
3.1 The competition is only open to people who currently live in Northstowe, or whose volunteering activity directly benefits the people of Northstowe and is aged 18 years or over, except:
(a) employees of us or our holding or subsidiary companies;
(b) employees of agents or suppliers of us or our holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
(c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
3.2 The requirements of condition 3.1 also apply to the person you are nominating.
3.3 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that the person you nominate is eligible to claim the prize. We may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition and that the person you have nominated is eligible to claim the prize.
3.4 There is a limit of one entry to the competition per household.
4. The prize
4.1 The Nominated Winner will receive:
(a) a Northstowe Community Hero trophy.
(b) can choose a charity for us to make a £100 donation to.
4.2 The charity that the Nominated Winner chooses for the £100 donation must be a registered charity.
4.3 The prize for the Nominated Winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
4.4 We reserve the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond our control makes it necessary to do so.
5. Winners
5.1 Our decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
5.2 Unsworth Sugden will notify you by email or telephone (using details provided at entry) within 14 days of the closing date if the person you nominated has been chosen as the Nominated Winner.
6. Claiming the prize
6.1 The Nominated Winner must contact Unsworth Sugden directly by email at the following email address NorthstoweHero@unsworthsugden.co.uk in order to claim their prize. They must provide their postal address within this email. If a Nominated Winner does not contact us within 1 month of us notifying you that they have been chosen as the Nominated Winner, then the Nominated Winner's prize will be forfeited and we will be entitled to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the entries that were received prior to the closing date.
6.2 The prize will be sent to the Nominated Winner by either post or email (at our choice) within 14 days of them contacting us in accordance with condition 6.1.
7. Limitation of liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, we, our agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of us, our agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
8. Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights
8.1 You and the Nominated Winner agree that we may, but are not required to, make your entry available on our website and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry for such purposes.
9. Data protection and publicity
9.1 By agreeing to take part in the competition you and the Nominated Winner, are agreeing to be involved in publicity around this competition, which may include Unsworth Sugden contacting you or the Nominated Winner to do a press release and photography. Any such press release could appear in the local, regional or national media with yours and the Nominated Winner’s name and image, as well as online and on social media.
10. General
10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, we may, at our sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
10.2 Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry.
10.3 We reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
10.4 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
